Hiya, on November 5-8, I am joining friends around the world in a walkathon to support the Global Youth Village.
I attended GYV in 2011. This is an international summer camp in Bedford, Virginia where I met kids my age from all over the US, Iraq (Sulaymaniyah , Basra, Mosul, Baghdad), Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and Switzerland. It was an eye-opening experience to learn what life was like in Baghdad at the time. I enjoyed the workshops (Peace and Conflict Resolution and Crossing Cultures Through the Arts), electives: learning how to play American football with Iraqis and other Americans, and meeting and really connecting with people around the world.
GYV needs support to survive this global pandemic. The goal is to raise at least $100. You can help by making a donation to ensure the leaders of tomorrow get the international experiences they need to be true global citizens. Guarantee the future of the Global Youth Village.
